Connecting X (Twitter) requires an X Developer account and an app with read/write permissions.
Before you start
You need:
- An X Developer account (developer.twitter.com)
- An app created in the Developer Portal with Read and Write permissions
- The app's API Key and API Key Secret
Steps
- Go to Channels and click Connect channel.
- Click the X (Twitter) tab.
- Enter your API Key and API Key Secret.
- Click Authorise with X. You will be redirected to X to authorise the connection.
- After authorisation you will be redirected back to PostRecycle. The channel will appear in your Channels list.
Why does X require a Developer account?
X's API requires each app to use its own credentials. This is different from Facebook and LinkedIn where PostRecycle handles the authentication on your behalf.
Note: X API credentials do not expire, so reconnection is rarely needed.
